Suggest Treatment For Psoriasis

I have been on a wait list for what appears ti be the only skin doc in the world (Fredericton). Can appointments be made out of provinces if so what is the process through health care? I have gone through two different Rx, most recently Taro-amcinonide, as was stated this was the best for my psoriasis . I am in desperate need as my mental health is being affected as my body is covered with these patches. Even thinking of going to Bangor.

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hello,

I am sorry you are in so much distress. I hope I can provide helpful information so your skin problem will be effectively treated.

Calcipotriene is a topical therapy that can be used alone or in conjunction with topical steroids.

Phototherapy: either Ultraviolet A or B is another option.

The above treatments must be prescribed by a physician.

You might contact the Canadian Academy of Dermatology (or similar organization) and ask for a listing of dermatologists near where you live.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Arnold Zedd, Pediatrician
