Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been diagnosed with Psoriatric Arthritis and Palindramic Rheumatism. I was on Lefluminide and have been switched to Methotrexate. I like the occasional glass of red wine. Are there any prescription medications that I can take instead of methotrexate or lefluminide that permit me to drink without the risk of liver and kidney damage? Also prefer a medication that does not have hair loss as a side effect. I am male 55, 5'10 170 pounds.
Have you discussed it with your Rheumatologist about Otezla which does not have the hair loss effect?. Also the main side effects is weight loss and worsening of depression. Other options are biological agents.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Priya Sadanandan
