Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Good afternoon. I have been taking Ibuprofen for several weeks for oestoarthristis in my neck. Ive noticed I have been getting increasingly puffy around the eyes. Im also taking Benzofluazide 2.5 mg daily for blood pressure and half a 20 mg citalopram daily. I am 59 years old. Thank you
Puffiness around eyes in your age is most commonly due to decrease of tissue supporting the eyeball. Some amount of fat squeezes out from the orbit and comes to lie under the skin of the lower lid. There is no medicine to recover from the same. Surgical Procedures or skin injections can be given to improve the cosmetic. For that u will have to contact ophthalmologist, cosmetologist, or a plastic surgeon. You can press the area with refrigerated convex surface of the spoon to tighten the tissues under the skin. That might help in a few cases
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Saurabh Mittal, Ophthalmologist
