Suggest Treatment For Purple Discoloration On Thigh
Hi I bounced my right thigh the outer portion on the edge of a table and about a month now it has turned purple blue and now is brown but its going away slowly but its still brown usually if i bounce myself it goes quickly. I m 23 going on 24 and light skinned is this normal. will the mark ever go away
I think the bounce was severe to cause a bad hematoma explaining why it is clearing so slowly. Usually, we do recommend to apply cold compresses within the 48 hours of the hit, then, alternating warm and cold compresses until the blood is dispersed. If you did not do this, then, it ended up with lasting so longer. As it is turning brown, it is clearing up, but requires a few more days.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini, General & Family Physician
