Suggest Treatment For Purple Stains Inside The Mouth
I thought I would put gentian violet inside my mouth -- over my teeth and gums -- because I was suffering from thrush -- but what a mistake!! Now I look like something from a horror movie! How can I remove these horrible purple stains? Please tell me it is not permanent !
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of purple stains inside the mouth which seems to be due to intake of gentian violet which will take few days to go as it stained your oral mucosa. Need not to worry about it. I would suggest you not to self medicate yourself. As oral thrush is a fungal disease i would suggest you to apply ketoconazole 2% or terbinafine 1% for 3 weeks. Your symptoms will start resolving. Maintain complete oral hygiene and drink plenty of fluids. Avoid intake of sharp spicy food and do mouth rinses with nystatin suspensions. Visit dentist once if symptoms keeps on persisting and get complete examination done and start treatment accordingly.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
