Suggest Treatment For Purplish Pimple Scar On Armpit
About two days ago I got what seems to look like a pimple in my armpit area. I tried to squeeze it but it was very painful pus came out and it bled but I stopped due to the pain. The next day I noticed about another two or three so called pimples around the area I had the one first. If you touch it, it feels hard, it hurts, and on the area I pinched the first time its now turned purple. What could it be and should I go to the doctor?
Hope you are not in pain now. From the history, it may be a boil - a skin infection. I am not going into the details as it won't help you much. Usually it requires antibiotic, and may require drainage if it is large with a lot of pus collection.
It is not understood from the history about past medical history like diabetes or conditions requiring you to take steroids. Considering the seriousness of your condition, it is better to consult a surgeon for the same.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Arveen Azeez Sulfath, General & Family Physician
