Suggest Treatment For Pus Discharge From Vaginal Lip In An Elderly Person

My 82 yr old bed fast mom Hospice pt at home. Was put on methylprednisolone ok and keeled 500ms bd 7days. She has 1 day left on Kelley. Still has 100.1 T taking Tyol q6hr. I just washed her bed chanded diaper, I noticed gooey puss in the lip area of her vagina. This is new. WOULD SHE NIW HAVE A UTI beginning on the Keflex?

She may have a vaginal infection or a local diaper sore.
Is there any redness or raw area near her vagina?
Fever while on antibiotics could mean an infection with an organism ( like bacteria) which is resistant to the prescribed antibiotic
steroids can predispose to infections too.

I would recommend an urine and blood culture in addition to some bloodwork to before starting her on another course of antibiotic treatment.
A consult with her doctor would be necessary to rule out other sores of infection like bed sores. It may also be necessary to discontinue the methyl prednisone, depending on why she was initiated on it the first place.
please consult your doctor before discontinuing any medication.
