Suggest treatment for bump on back Hello. I have a quarter size bump on my back. It s hard and red...similar to a pimple. I squeezed it and a smelly puss and some blood came out. After touching it for a while it starts to hurt. How can I treat it and what might it possibly be
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of pus filled bump on back which occur because of numerous sebaceous glands in this area and due to infection of hair follicle leading to folliculitis.
I would suggest you to
1) Apply bacitracin twice daily topically and maintain complete hygiene of that area.
2) Take diet rich in multivitamins.
3) Do Not prick rashes.
If condition doesn't get well in a week then consult dermatologist/general physician for proper examination and treatment. Doctor may prescribe antibiotics like minocycline, and steroid ointment.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
