Suggest Treatment For Pus-filled Wound On Big Toe

My two year old son has banged his big toe and caused nail to lifted but it still attached halfway and has pus oozing from torn skin what I can do to treat it? I have cleaned it with tcp and kept plaster on it but it still looks painful three days on How to speed up recovery and what best way to treat this ongoing

Thanks for your question.

After going through your question, I can understand your concern.

There is development of infected wound in your child's case.
There is a need for complete drainage of pus that may require removal of remaining half of nail.

Along with this there is a need for dressing with antiseptics like betadin or savlon.
There may be need for oral antibiotic like cefixim if there is fever or depending upon wound examination.

Use some pain killer with anti-inflammatory like Ibugesic syrup.

It will be better to consult your doctor for detailed examination.
