Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My husband has had a rapid heart rate for weeks. Refused to go to the ER. He had a heart transplant 6 years ago, is on dialysis. Today he was admitted to the hospital by the transplant team. He had an ultrasound. Was told he either has a mass or a blood clot in the heart. What are the implications of this and what should we expect?
Thanks for contacting HCM with your health care concerns.
I am sorry to hear that your husband is in the hospital with a blood clot in his heart. This is a potentially dangerous situation and he will need long term anticoagulation therapy. I recommend that he follow the advice of his transplant team to maximize his potential for recovery.
I hope I answered your question. Please contact HCM again with your health care concerns or questions or if you have any other information you need
