Suggest Treatment For Rapid Heart Rate

Hello,
Vagotomy of a normal person would result in an increase in HR from about 70 to about 100, the intrinsic rate of the heart. If a person were a regular exerciser, and had a resting HR of 40, would vagotomy cause the HR to go to 70 (same + 30 change), or to 100 (same intrinsic rate). In other words, is the adaptation to exercise in the heart intrinsic rate, in the parasym input, or both?
Thanks
