Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I feel kind of silly asking this, but my heart rate (resting) has been elevated all day -- ranging from 107 early am, up and down from 130 - 180 most of the day. I've been having episodes like this for several months, but not this bad or long lasting. I guess I'm just not sure what to do. Bp avgs 120/78 - 130/88.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
I would like to tell you that heart rate is ever changing phenomena depending upon your activity level, emotional stress and physiological changes.
Heart rate during wake up time and slowly rises according to your activity which is very normal and blood pressure is also within normal limits which doesn’t require any treatment.
Hopefully this information will answer your query.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Do you have any stress or anxiety? We first need to find the cause in you. Firstly, you should get an ECG done. And further based on ECG report you may need thyroid, hemoglobin tests if it's shows sinus tachycardia. Also, echo may be needed if auscultation shows any abnormalities. I guess you don't any symptoms like chest pain, shortness of breath, dizziness etc during the episodes if yes then it may raise the possibility of cardiac arrhythmia like atrial fibrillation or avnrt.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
