Suggest Treatment For Rash Around Stomach After Taking Claxene 120 Mg Injection
I had suspected blood clots in my right forearm following rotator claf repair surgery. The public hospital instructed I inject claxene 120mg in my stomach..about 20 days into it a rash developed. I want back to my GP and he prescribed Keflex and some Cortic cream. As I then went back to see a vascular surgeon who instructed to stop taking any medication including the Claxene as the main clots had gone..My vascular surgeon couldn t tell me what to take to get rid of the rash on my stomach. I read on a few site that taking High potency Calcium 600mg and Calamine Lotion who help it go away. .I ve only been taking it for 3 days and nothing has gone down..Can anyone tell me what I need to do as this rash is bad on both side of my stomach and Claxene should warn people.ThanksRob

Hi it's an expected side effect with injections like clexane. Maybe a small capillary burst over the skin causing the petechiae(rash). Unfortunately it takes a while to heal and for the rash to disappear and it usually does. So be patient. It's unfortunate that this side effect had to happen to you. But do not be worried it will disappear by itself without any treatment. I cannot confirm the high dose calcium claim as I am not aware of any such treatment. Take care :)
