Suggest Treatment For Rash Developed With Fever In Children
My 3 yr old son (weight 15.6) has been having fever (in a range of 101-103) for past 3 days. On day 4 it has come down to 100. We have been giving him ibugesic plus (10 ml dose) for every fever spike. and putting him in a bucket of water. However since day 3 he has rashes all over his body which have intensified till day 5. Doctor has prescribed him Azithral XL liquid 200. We are not sure if we should give him this medicine. Please advice.
Hi... this could be a viral exanthema. Do not put him in cold water bucket or do cold sponging as this may spread the rash. Moreover do not use antibiotic unnecessarily. The possibilities are Hand Foot Mouth disease/ Chicken pox/ any other trivial viral exanthem. I suggest you use calamine lotion as its giving results along with oral antiallergic like Hydroxyziine or Cetrizine. Hope my answer was helpful for you. I am happy to help any time. Further clarifications and consultations on Health care magic are welcome. If you do not have any clarifications, you can close the discussion and rate the answer. Wish your kid good health.
