Suggest Treatment For Rash On Buttocks

I am a 59 yr old male and have a red rash all over my rearend. It does itch, hurts a little when my briefs rub on it. Feels better when lying on stomach with a warm compress on it. Rash is no where else, wife said I should sit in the tub with some baking soda in the water will that help.

Hi Dear,

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of rash on buttocks which could be due to allergic reaction or frictional heat generation.

Need not to worry. I would suggest you keep this area clean and dry, apply warm compresses. Yes sitting in tub with pinch of baking soda will give you relief. apply over the counter antibiotics cream and wear loose clothes. Avoid touching or pricking these areas. If condition doesn't get well then consult dermatologist for proper examination. doctor may order allergy test, skin patch test and blood test, and start treatment accordingly.
