Suggest Treatment For Rashes And Hives On The Face And Chest

My 15 month old daughter woke up with a rash that looks like hives on her face and chest and now it s the end of the day and it s spread down her whole body. Had a little high temp of 99.9 and has slight cold symptoms (We think the cold symptoms are her teething though) and does not seem bothered or itchy at all. Could this be measles or just an allergic reaction to something?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

If she is had her MMR injection already then measles is not likely because this vaccine will protect her against this infection along with mumps and rubella.

If this not the case, then she may need to be checked to rule it out.

The cold symptoms may be related to the teething but it may also be linked to the rash.
A rash can occur with viral infections and this is called viral exanthem. This rash normally resolves with or soon after the infection.

It is treated only if symptoms are present eg itching etc

If she is unwell-- lethargic, not eating well etc ,then she should be seen. If she is otherwise active and alert then she may need assessment as yet unless you are concerned.

I hope this helps
