Suggest Treatment For Rashes On Skin Post Using Mosquito Repellent Spray

Hello. 2 days ago I worked out in my back yard. If it helps here are the details: It was about 630pm and mosquitoes are a big issue in my area. So I asked my boyfriend to spray me with a mosquito repellent (which I have used twice before with no issues). Went on with my workout. We have weight mats in a shed and I laid there to work on my sit ups. Skin and sweat made contact with the mat. The very next morning, I woke up with a rash in the areas where my skin made contact. But today I noticed it spread to a small area of my chest, lower mid back and now the left side of my neck. Is there anything that you recommend I try before seeing a dermatologist?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I read carefully your query and understand your concern.

The symptoms seem to be related to contact dermatitis.

I suggest using Cetirizine 10 mg daily.

I also suggest using Calamine lotion for local application.

Hope my answer was helpful.

If you have further queries feel free to contact me again.

Kind regards!
