Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am getting a spreding rash after visiting a campground. I felt a couple of bug bites around my ankles at the time. over the past 2 or 3 days I am getting more and more round spots - look very red but that may be due to scratching. Feel OK otherwise.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of rashes on the ankles. Well the symptoms you mention in query can occur due to allergic reaction due to metal, an animal bite, or an insect sting, it could be due to infection of hair follicle and contact dermatitis as well. Need not to worry. You should apply cold compresses and avoid any cosmetic product. You should avoid constant rubbing as well. You should wear loose clothes and avoid frictional heat due to constant rubbing. For now take benadryl twice a day. I would suggest you to consult dermatologist for proper examination. Doctor may prescribe antihistamine , corticosteroid ointment and may give adrenaline short. Avoid touching or picking rash. Maintain complete hygiene.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
