Suggest Treatment For Rashes On The Buttocks

I have about 5 rash like circle on my right butt cheek. It showed up about 1.5 weeks ago. Today a small one showed up on my cheek. I shaved last night and it was not there. I had the flu(type b) about 2.5 weeks ago with 2 days of fever and I was prescribed cipro and tamiflu. I have no swollen lymph nodes, no diarrhea, no other viable rash. Just worried about hiv/aids. The past(10-15 years)has a way of popping up even though I have always tried to be careful.

Hi,

Your rashes are most likely fungal infection like Tinea. It can flare up after antibiotic therapy also. So need to worry. You can apply antifungal ointments like Clotrimazole or miconazole which are available as over the counter. Use it for 1 week twice daily. If no improvement then consult your doctor as you may need prescription oral antifungal agents.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
