Suggest Treatment For Rashes On The Hands

I ve had shingles before about 2 years ago on my torso. I have Had a rash developing on my hands for the past week. I have sensitive skin so thought it might have to do with soap at the office. It seems to be moving, however, up both arms and is now developing blisters. It does not have the patches like I had with shingles. Does this sound like shingles? I m 60 years old.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi
Shingles will never attack both sides of the body.In your cases, both hands exclude shingles.Other possible causes of rashes could be topical fingi, bacterial/parasitic/viral skin infections or allergy. The treatment of this condition will depend on the underlying cause.I will suggest you take an anti-histamine like premalan, bath with antiseptic solution like cyteal or dermobacter and then see a Dermatologist for evaluation. You may need antibiotics or anti-fungi if of bacterial or fungi origins respectively.Your Doctor will help you with the prescription if need be.
Hope my answer will help you
Best regards
