Suggest Treatment For Rashes On The Thigh An Legs In People With Low Vitamin D Levels
I had blood work done this week. Platelet count 391 with a vitamin D low 27.4. Two days ago a rash started on my legs and has moved to my thighs which are blotches and now I see some brusing among the rash. Headache on and off but not bad just irritating. I have not put anything on the rashes but taking Benedryl. Is thst okay or should I be doing something different?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of rashes on the thigh an legs in people with low vitamin D levels . It could be due to blockage of sebaceous glands leading to folliculitis or boils. Need not to worry. Rashes can also occur due to allergic reaction , contact dermatitis or psoriasis .You should void touching or pricking rashes. I would suggest you to keep this area clean and dry , apply cream containing azelaic acid , apply cold compresses with soaked towel which will reduce redness and itchiness and apply vitamin C serum at night. If condition doesn't get better then consult dermatologist for proper examination . Doctor will examine physically along with blood test and sample for lab test . Doctor may prescribe immunosuppressants , antibiotics like clindamycin , anti inflammatory or anti fungal . Doctor may also prescribe benzoyl peroxide ointment .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
