Suggest Treatment For Rashes Throughout Body And Fever

My niece has what looks like a heat rash all over her body for about 2 weeks and now has had a fever ranging from 99.0-101.5 for the past 4 days. She says she just does not feel well. She only eats when we make her and pretty much just wants to lay on the couch under a blanket. What do you think?

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

Is the rash raised from skin / palpable? Any itching? Probably this is a viral fever. Give her acetaminophen 3-4 times a day after food for 3 days. Let her take rest, drink plenty of fluids and have a soft diet. Appetite will be down for few days- give small amounts frequently. If the rash is itchy, we need some antihistamines too.

If she is not getting better in 2 days, becomes very dull or not at all taking orally, kindly take her to doctor without further delay.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam T. K., Pediatrician
