Suggest Treatment For Recurrent Cold Infection

I have had symp toms of a cold and have lost my voice, it is very squeeky. I have seen my regular MD three times and two days after taking the Z pack or antiboitics it is back. I then went to see an ENT specialist who has prescribed this medicene Doxycycline Hyclate 100 mg and he stated that I had a bad virus which has settled in my throat. Can you tell me what kind of virus it is that just won t go away?
