Suggest Treatment For Recurrent Episodes Of Abdominal Pain
I suffer from episodes of abdominal pain the pain actually is more in my back and radiates in the front. It gets so bad, I actually faint. Emergency squads have been called for me on 4 occasions now. The episodes pass in 45 minutes or so and then I am fine. Just tired and sweaty. Emergency rooms send me home, my PCP sent me to a Gastrospecialisllist who did an upper GI which was clear I had an ultrasound MRI and cat scan of my gut all normal I do t know what else to do and I can t get my PCP to listen

General & Family Physician, Dr. Taimoor's Response
Thanks for asking at HCM. I have read your question and I understand your concern. Pain starting at the back and radiating to the front most likely seems to be of spinal origin. There are distributions of nerves arising from vertebral column and supply a specific area on the skin of abdomen and chest called a dermatome. The spinal level affected can be digged out by proper examination of the affected area and a MRI spine will be diagnostic. Another cause may be spinal neuropathy secondary to diabetes etc, so a fasting blood sugar will be useful. I hope this may be of some help, if you find it inadequate or you have query feel free to ask. Thanks DrTaimur
