Suggest Treatment For Recurrent Genital Warts With Pain

2 1/2 weeks ago I had genital warts burned off and was told to use Neosporin afterwards. 1 1/2 weeks ago I went to a dermatologist for folliculitis and was given Doxycycline Hyclate 100mg tabs. While taking the antibiotics I used aldara cream on what I thought was a new wart developing. The burn wounds are not healing and the area of new concern seemed to have made the area raw only after applying for a week. Should I stop the antibiotics? It is the holiday and the Dr. is not in. I m experiencing pain and the raw area seems to only get worse. I have poured hydrogen peroxide over areas to prevent infection. What should I do?

Hello,
welcome to HCM,

Your history and the clinical symptoms are suggestive of Anogenital Wart or Condyloma Acuminata. This is a type of sexual transmitted disease.

Wart which is painless and itching are the classical of Anogenital Wart or Condyloma Acuminata, which is caused by Human Papillomavirus (HPV).

Human Papillomavirus (HPV) infection can be transmitted to the partner as this is a sexually transmitted disease. This should be diagnosed by physical examination and PAP smear of the scrapping of the wart and confirmed by Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR).

The treatment for this condition includes Cryotherapy, Local application of 0.5% solution of podophyllin, which should be applied twice daily for 3 days and nothing should be applied for next 4 days (7 days cycle). This cycle should be continued for 4 weeks.
Thank you.
