Suggest Treatment For Recurrent High Fever In A Child
My daughter is 7.5 yrs old. she has fever for last 9 days. first 5 days doctor treated for viral fever but nothing changed. then we visited a senior doctor and he diagonosed it as a stomach infection and that is causing fever. he gave medicine like zanocin 100 syrup twice a day. 4 days gone but still she is not fully recovered. today also she had 102 fever. she had 105 fever last tuesday. we have given the blodd sample today morning for test. I just need your thought on this. what kind of infection it could be? is it something very serious?
Your child is suffering from the fever but I would need a detailed history like any fits, diarrhea, cough or any other symptoms to give you final verdict about the cause of infection. However, antibiotics will work hopefully and in children the usual fevers are of viral type and that at least requires 2-3 weeks to resolve completely. Keep good hydration of the child and give anti-pyretics every 4-6 hourly and after the blood tests the situation will be more clear.
Wishing her a speedy recovery. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
