Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Suggest Treatment For Recurrent Nausea And Hot Flashes
I ve been experiencing nausea for the past couple of weeks, off and on. Also, at times I feel hot suddenly, sort of like a hot flash, but then it goes away. I sometimes get a slight headache. I got sick to my stomach a couple of nights ago. What do you think could be causing this?
I think we should see the two problems independently. Nausea and vomiting may be related to your stomach problems. It may be caused by gastritis or ulcer.
I would suggest you take some antacids like Gaviscon, and acid suppression drugs like omeprazole once a day for about two weeks. I hope it would settle. Otherwise, that would need evaluation by a gastroenterologist.
The hot flushes may be caused by drugs. Or if you are a female and over the age of 40, these may be caused by menopause. Other causes include thyroid problems. So it needs proper history and examination.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Mahboob Ur Rahman,
General & Family Physician
