Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I just had surgery to remove a kidney stone and a stent placed in. I had the stent removed after a week but now I m trying to pass another kidney stone. I will have excruciating pain for about six hours and then it leaves and then it comes back what do you think is the problem ?
Problem may be stone size obstructing the lumen of ureter or so. In my clinic, I do recommend flush therapy with stone dissolving agents to cure in best possible way. Second alternative would be extra corporeal shock wave lithotripsy for pain less stone passage if it is above the level of iliac vessel crossing. Till that time, drink plenty of liquids.Kindly share your last X-ray KUB report here to guide precisely.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
