I have diverticulitis. I ve had about 3 flare ups in 6 years...I usually have pain right above the right groin area...well I started a 14 day colon cleanse my first cleanse and I m 300lbs and 52 years old. The first day I started feeling the same pain I get from a flare up but uts on the other side and more above the hip... it is also sure to the touch
You are having history of diverticulitis. So your presentation could be because of diverticulitis like inflammatory condition. You can be prescribed Ciprofloxacin and Metronidazole like broad spectrum medication course. You should consume more fiber in diet. Tablet Aristozyme(fiber supplement) can be prescribed for that. If needed colonoscopy can be done for further work up. I suggest you to consult gastroenterologist for examination.
Hope I have answered your query.
