Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Your wife is suffering from persistent recurrent sinus infections despite medications. Possible causes for this may be her weak immune constituency, underlying immunodeficiency, history of nasal allergies and anatomical defects in the nasal region. Stay away from cold beverages and liquids. use water vaporizer as many times as possible. gargle salt water daily 3 times. avoid any further irritants to nasal passages. You need to consult an ENT for endoscopy to further evaluate the extent of anatomical defects as well as blood tests to eliminate former possibilities.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
