Suggest Treatment For Recurrent Sneezing Fits And Runny Nose
I had cautery yesterday of 5-6 bleed points in my right nasal cavity and have had the worst sneezing fits, runny nose and wet eyes for the last 24 hrs as a result - like a very severe head cold without the other symptons of fever etc. I was not warned of these after effects. Also was not told to avoid nose blowing which I ve just read online. Due to the extreme sneezing and runny nose I have not been able to avoid blowing my nose which i ve tried to do gently. Not sure how I am supposed to avoid nose blowing when the runny nose and sneezing are so severe. Please advise if I should continue as I m doing and how long these symptons are likely to last. Many thanks, Neal.
The symptoms you refer like constant running nose and sneezing are symptoms of allergic rhinitis. You can use antihistamines such Benadryl or Cetirizine two times daily.
Also rinse nose often with saline water. Also you can use Pseudoephedrine or Phenylephrine to lower congestion. Using nasal drops also can help.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Olgeta Xhufka,
