General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Lisinopril is an antihypertensive drug acts by preventing conversion of angiotensin I to angiotensin II which has effects of vasoconstriction. This results in vasodilation. It also prevents aldosterone secretion in the adrenal cortex which in turn reduces sodium reabsorption and also increases water output.

Lisinopril is commonly prescribed in hypertension and heart failure. Common side effects of the drug are headache, dizziness, persistent cough, low blood pressure. Mouth ulcers may be due to vitamin deficiency or due to gastritis and Gastroesophageal reflux disease. GERD causes acid reflux and results in oral ulcer. Sometimes, ulcers may be due to infection. Visit the doctor for further evaluation.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
