Suggest Treatment For Recurrent Urinary Infection And Yeast Infection
My Mother has had many urine infections these past months. They are treated and then go away for awhile only to return. She is 94 and not doing well at this point. The urine infection she had last week was treated and rechecked today. She now has yeast infection. What does this mean as far a treatment for her at this point?
The use of antibiotics can cause yeast infection because it affects the flora of the vaginal canal.
The yeast infection can be effectively treated with topical or oral medications. At her age, it may be best to use topical treatments since there is a less chance of side effects because the medication would not be systemically absorbed.
I hope this helps
