I have had five UTI s this year every time it clears up another one starts. I have tried all the laternative remedies cranberry vitamin C probiotics and various homeopathic remedies plus anti biotics and inbetween a low dose antibiotic. i do have to use a catheter as I can t void completely. I am thinking of giving that up and seeing how I get on. Can you offer anymore insights. Thanks Judith

The most possible reason for getting UTI frequently is that you have bladder outlet obstruction resulting into adequate quantity of residual urine in bladder. This residual urine is the source of infection .
Please get following basic tets done under guidance of a qualified Urologist to find out the cause og UTI. 1) Urine routine and Urine culture . 2) Ultrasound Scanning of abdomen with specific menti of residual urine volume.
Take appropriate antibiotic as per culture report.
Further treatment will depend upon the results of these tests and final diagnosis. Dr.Patil.
