1st you have to perform a pulmonary function test which will detect the current stage of your asthma for a proper management. If you are a smoker its highly recommended to stop smoking. There are so many allergic conditions triggering asthma. As you are facing problems mainly after rising from bed you may have allergy from bed pollen or dust. Regular change of your bedsheet is advised. If you have allergy to dust or cold you have to avoid them or take proper precautions. Inhaler containing levosalbutamol, salmeterol, ipratropium, fluticasone etc may help to control asthmatic attacks depending upon the stage of illness. You may have to use one or two inhalers for a duration. Montelukast with levocetrizine tabs once daily for a month have a long term affect in controlling asthma. As asthma can be severe its recommended to visit a doctor for getting advice about the use of inhaler depending upon the stage of asthma.
