Suggest Treatment For Recurring Bladder Infection And Abdominal Discomfort
I have been getting back to back bladder infections. Was placed on macrobids for 6 months. I am on my fourth month now and sometimes I feel like I am still having an infection. I feel a lot of abdominal discomfort. Prior to me starting the macrobuds my urine always smells like an TCP antiseptic. I saw a urologist and i am scheduled to do a bladder biopsy. I am so confused. I am 37 years old. I do not have any urethral stricture. What is it then that could be causing my non stop infections?
Another structural cause of would be vesico- urethra reflux. This refers to the reflux of urine from the bladder up towards the kidney.
It is also a structural cause of repeated urine infections. This can be assessed by imaging of urinary tract. It is also possible that the organism causing the infection is resistant to the antibiotics chosen.
I hope this helps
