Suggest Treatment For Recurring Blood Filled Bumps On Buttocks And Thigh

I ve had frequently reoccurring red puss/blood filled bumps on my buttocks and sometimes my upper thigh area (right where my buttocks and thigh meet). They come and go and have been for about 2 years now. They re very painful when I sit and sometimes the area around them itches. They usually last anywhere between 4-7 days and sometimes after they disappear they leave a scar. It s very irritating. I ve asked my OBGYN about them but he said it s common and nothing I really need to worry about, although he never actually looked at them. Please help!!

Hello,

You are having blood filled bumps on the buttocks and thigh. Blood-filled pimples tend to look more irritated, inflamed than regular pimples. And they’re more likely to lead to infections and acne scars. You are suggested not to touch, scratch or pick as it will lead to more pimples, infections, scarring and pain. Keep pimples clean. Wash it with a gentle cleanser and warm water (not hot) twice a day. Applying salicylic acid or retinoid cream may be helpful. You may take a course of antibiotics like Doxycycline-100 mg.

Get clinically examined by a dermatologist. You may be recommended laser therapy, micro dermabrasion or drainage and extraction whatever suits you the best. Your dermatologist may ask you to go through certain skin tests and STD tests to be on the safer side. Get it done. You will be accordingly treated.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
