General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my clinical experience, the recurrent bowel obstruction indicates significant pathology underlying involving either small intestine or large intestine. Post operative adhesions are responsible for more than 90% of intestine obstruction.

However, rest of the conditions as tuberculosis, electrolyte imbalance and others have to be sorted out. In my clinic, after radiology work up of x-ray of abdomen standing ultrasound of the abdomen & pelvis, I do recommend a diagnostic laparoscopy (which may prove curative when adhesions are the sole cause).

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Take care.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
