Suggest Treatment For Recurring Extreme Migraines

I went to the ER a few weeks ago but was not seen. The reason I went was severe headache. I sometimes get migraines so I take Tylenol as soon as I feel a headache , this usually stops them. I took Tylenol but vomited it a few (10 to 15) min later. The headache got very intense. I couldn t open my eyes. I requested my roommate give me a ride. Soon after getting in the car I was visibly unconscious. My roommate said I would periodically shake. During this time I was able to hold my head up, unable to open my eyes, or move any part of my body. However, I felt very awake cognitively. I could feel being driven in the car, knew where I was, could hear my roommate speaking to me, and the person speaking to me at the check in. I do plan to follow up by seeing a doctor but would like some idea or insight of what could have been happening. I am healthy otherwise and have not had a headache since.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As first line management, you can take analgesics like paracetamol or aceclofenac for pain relief.
If symptoms persist, better to consult a neurologist and plan for an MRI brain to rule out possible intracranial (inside the brain) causes.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
