Suggest Treatment For Recurring Fever And Body Pain

I have an on and off fever for five days now. I have bodyaches and my body is weak. Whenever I take Tylenol, I sweat and the fever subsides., but the fever comes back again. I also have a bitter taste. I have an appointment to see my doctor, but not until Monday. Should I just go to urgent care. I'm worried. Please help.

Hello,

Thanks for posting,

If between ribs, you mean the xyphoid region of the abdomen, then the most likely cause should be acid reflux. Normally the pain should be burning type and could be aggravated by food or starvation.
You will need to take antacids in order to relieve the symptoms. If this persist despite taking those, you will need to see a doctor for closer evaluation and treatment.

Regards
Dr. Nsah
