Suggest Treatment For Recurring Painful Blisters And Sores In Nose

I have sores in my nose that keep returning. They appear as small blisters and are very painful. I have been swabbing the sores with peroxide then apply a topical antibiotic. They have occurred in both nostrils and directly below the nose. What do you think they are and what other treatment should I pursue? Thank you, Mary

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain small recurring bumps in nostrils and directly below the nose can be due to infection that can be caused by bacteria or viruses..
In case if it is caused by bacteria it is commonly Impetigo and is caused by Staphylococcus bacteria..
In case if it is due to virus, it is due to Herpes Simplex Virus 1 causing cold sores..
I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and he can advise you a nasal swab culture, nasal endoscopy and blood tests to rule out the exact cause of the problem and treat you accordingly..
In case of bacterial infection oral antibiotics can be advised along with steroid nasal sprays..
In case of viral infection antiviral medicines like valacyclovir, acyclovir, famicyclovir can be advised.
Do cool compresses over nostrils..
Take anti inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen..
Do saline nasal irrigations..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
