Suggest Treatment For Recurring Rashes On The Nose Of A Child
My 10-year-old daughter has a reoccurring rash around her nose pimply at times. We have tried fungal creams and tea tree soaps with calendula cream. It will clear up for a few days but then it comes back. Sometimes it really flares up and she has numerous red dots and now they re showing up on her chin
hi thank you for asking your concern and welcome to HCM. the description you are giving is seems like impetigo, please search on google and see images if it is like impetigo following treatment can be given. crust like lesion in children arround nose and chin is more likely impetigo. this is due to staph aureus and streptococcus most of the time. as treatment first nose cleaning with small soft wet cloth is must because these microbes stay there, detol can be used to gently wash nostrils and lesion. mupirocin cream is good to apply on lesion others are clindamycin cream, neosporin cream can be used if mupirocin is not available. need to apply 2-3 times a day for atleast a week. capsule cephalexin 125 mg three times a day should be given for a week. i suggest you to visit your doctor if any doubt because impetigo has to be treated well. i hope i answered your concern but feel free to ask any doubts regards dr. abhijit
