I thought I nicked my self shaving, but after at least 2 months I have treated myself for a yeast infection, I also used atibiotic ointment down there, desitine also and vasoline. I stay inflamed and red I dont no what to do. I stay in pain. My husband knows what I am going through. My daughter made the statement are you sure you did not get this from him. I have been down and out for a year with avasculor necrosois of the hips.
Hello and welcome to HCM, It is important to get clinical asessment of the genital region. The pain, inflammation and swelling may not be necessarily be due to sexually transmitted disease (STD). As you have mentioned that you have had a cut or nick on the genital region, the pain and redness may be due to infection of the site of nick and not STD. It is first important to know the cause of symptom before starting any treatment. Avascular necrosis of hip is caused by decreased blood supply to the hip. This is seen due to long term intake of steroids, alcohol consumption, prior fracture etc. You need to consult an orthopedician for its management.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja Puri
