Suggest Treatment For Red Rashes After Insect Bite
Hi, my aunt and i are on vacation in a cabin in the woods, we both have bug bites that are more pimply that mosquito bites. Hers actually look scabby or a hole in the middle and red around them. We check for bed bugs and thats not the problem but out of 9 of us we are the only ones with them and theres 9 of us here. can you help me out?
Hi Thanks for posting on HCM Since the problem affects only two of you and the other 7 friends are free, it may not be due to insect or bug bites. It may be a skin reaction/allergy to something in the cabin or bacteria or fungal skin infections even though less likely.I will suggest you take an anti-histamine like loratadine, bath with anti-septic solution like cyteal and observe. If the rashes persist, you may see a dermatologist for investigation and etiologic management. The dermatologist may also judge the need for topical corticosteroid use. Hope my answer will help you Best regards
