Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a red sore on the middle of my tongue and also a red sore on front lower jaw (inside my mouth). Second time Ive had this sore in the front lower jaw but now today on my tongue. Never had cold sores before. I am on 10 mg of prozac and take a daily vitamin.
As per your query red sore over the middle of tongue along with one in front of lower jaw and now in front of tongue needs not necessarily be due cold sore caused due to viral infection but can be due to canker sores that are common to occur.
I would suggest you to start gargling with warm saline solution. You can take Vitamin B complex daily, apply gel containing Triamcinolone Acetonide to reduce inflammation and pain. Apply numbing gel containing Lignocaine. Taking Lysine supplement can also provide relief.
Avoid spicy and hard foods and take a soft bland diet. In case of no improvement or worsening in a week consult an oral physician and get evaluated.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Honey Arora
