I have on my neck 2 red spots that may be infected . Last year, something similar a dermatologist said it was ingrown hair follicle that was infected. I have an ointment of triamcinnolone but don t recall if it was for the neck infection . I appreciate your help with this issue. Thank you, John
Understanding your concern. As per your query have symptoms of red spots on the neck which seems to be due to contact dermatitis, skin infection , eczema, allergic reaction and other medical condition.
Need not to worry. Avoid touching or pricking rashes. I would suggest you to stop using any cosmetic product, protect your skin from sun exposure , and apply broad spectrum sunscreen when in exposure to sun . Also take over the counter antihistamine like benadryl. You should apply olive oil on scalp. Consult dermatologist for proper examination . Doctor will examine physically , take history , order skin test for allergy and blood test . Doctor may order corticosteroid ointment , anti allergic medicine , antibiotics and may alter the dose of or prescribe substitute .
Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
