Suggest Treatment For Redness And Irritation After Using A Lidocaine Patch
How to treat redness, irritation from Lidocaine patch. I have some redness around the toenail area from wearing the patch too many days it seems. I have been using it to treat nerve pain. Had the toenail removed August 30th. Began using lidocain patch about two weeks ago, 12 hours on, 12 off, but now the redness and irritation has developed
Little skin allergy is very common to the patch. Redness, burning, and pain is quite common with Lidocaine patches. You should not worry but carefully observe it. It generally disappears in minutes to hours. So if it's fading, don't worry. However, Inform your pharmacist or doctor if too much blistering or if the redness and pain do not reduce in a few hours.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Mahboob Ur Rahman, General & Family Physician
