General & Family Physician 's  Response
A sting or bite of insect injects venom composed of proteins and other substances that may trigger an allergic reaction. The sting also causes redness and swelling at the site of the sting.
1.     Cold fomentation with ice pack 5 – 6 times daily
2.     Do not scratch the area as it will cause skin damage and infection
3.     You can apply calamine lotion for itching
4.     Levocetrizine 5 mg per oral once daily for 5 days
5.     Dexamethasone 0.5 mg twice daily per oral for 7 days
6.     Ibuprofen 600 mg thrice daily if pain occurs. Otherwise avoid it
Thanks
