Suggest Treatment For Redness And Pain Around The Injured Area On Calf

I was working in yard when wind whipped a mesquite branch across my calf. I pulled out an inch long thorn that was imbedded maybe 1\4 inch. It continued to cause pain and a small amount of swelling. Now four hours later I have a red area on calf although swelling has gone down. I am a 56 year old woman of relatively good health. How should I treat the problem? Is it of sufficient concern to go to doctor?

I really appreciate your concern, such throne injury may cause infection and care need to be taken for this, and better to start the antibiotic and anti-inflammatory drugs and best would be "Tab Ibuprofen 400 mg and Tab Cefdinir 300" twice in day for days, for safe side you can see the doctor, hope this information helps, take care.
