Suggest Treatment For Redness And Swelling In The Arm
I was recently bitten by a mosquito or spider 9/17/16. my upper back arm swelled up and was red from elbow to arm pit. I went to urgent care and was given prednisone, zyrtec, and 2 topical creams. It has since gone down and now I am feeling extremely tired, my neck and upper back ache, my upper abdomen in bloated, and my head feels foggy or something. Is this something I should worry about or will it go away once bite is completely out of my system?
Swelling of the upper back arm after a mosquito or spider bite is suggestive of allergic reaction. The drugs mentioned by you - prednisone and zyrtec will help to resolve the pain and swelling. The other symptoms - tiredness, back ache and neck pain, bloating are can be due to prostration associated with allergic reaction. I suggest you continue the medications prescribed for a few more days until the symptoms resolve.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
